Low calorie pb alternative that actually tastes like pb?

I think your body is pushing you to crave peanut butter to try to override your calorie cutting. As you note, a relatively small amount of peanut butter can undo a lot of calorie restriction which is of course exactly what your hormones want if you’re eating loss calories.

Drink coffee and exercise and eat more vegetables.

Just get real peanut butter and eat it with an apple as a snack. 1 spoonful and that’s it

I am currently 10 pounds away from my goal weight. So calories are more important to me than “healthy” right now. And then once I hit my goal weight I will have more freedom for this stuff since I will just be in maintenance.

The Justin’s packages just taste horrible to me and they actually have a bunch of ingredients other than peanuts which negates the “healthy” argument anyway. And almond butter: It has pretty much the same calories as peanut butter but just doesn’t taste as good so what’s the point? 🙂

I can try having a tablespoon of the real stuff with apples etc…

I took a posters advice and made shiritake noodles with PB as a snack today. Yum! Try it. I mixed 1T with some chicken broth, soy sauce and chili crunch. Topped with scallions, slice bell pepper and some crushed peanuts. Super healthy, satisfying snack.

?? This seems so out of context. What are you trying to accomplish here?

congrats, OP! i'm losing the last 20 of 100 and i eat 1 tablespoon of peanut butter every day. not sure if you live alone, but you can buy the small JIF to go packs of peanut butter and allot yourself 1 to last 2 days and have a spouse/child/roommate hide the rest of the pack. i've had my DH do that in the past (not specifically with PB but with other stuff).

Congrats!

I find that women who crave PB often aren't eating enough fats. Do you eat enough olive oil/avocado/almonds/salmon?

Yup! I eat all of that stuff plenty. I think pb has just always been a weakness for me in general.

I may just go ahead and add a tablespoon daily as a snack. And just hope I can stick with it with that portion size. Because the powdered stuff just tastes awful to me.

Real PB is delicious. Stick with a Tbsp and you’ll be fine.

Have your pb on celery! Ants on a log for grownups. They’re fussy to make (so slows down eating; I could and have eaten peanut butter from the jar with a spoon lol), you can’t get too much peanut butter on them, and the celery fills you up before you eat a lot. And celery is very low in calories.

Save it for after a 10 mile walk or run or 40 mile bike ride. A special treat.

OP admitted in her first post that it's difficult for her to control how much of it she eats, I'm sure she's tried sticking with just one TBSP already.
