It’s -perpetual touring - where the serious money is. I have strong suspicions she will tour again.

Between her and her father, they have plenty of money in that family. However, when you get to that level of wealth, lots of money doesn’t seem like lots of money anymore and you keep wanting to make more and more.

I really like her though. She’s likable. I don’t know if that’s relevant or not but she seems very honest. This is likely how she feels now and she could obviously changed her mind.

Serious question, do these celebrities not have good investment plans or something? I feel like first million, which I assume they made looong ago, is the hardest but then you can see that money grow a lot afterwards.

Many have good real estate portfolios.

I really go back and forth between feeling bad for her because child stardom seems horrible and is so hard on a person’s development, and rolling my eyes at what comes off to me as extreme self-involvement and selfishness.

Like in the one hand, touring seems exhausting and I could understand deciding you don’t want to do it anymore.

On the other hand, if you think performing live is “living your life for others” instead just, you know, a job, you sound melodramatic and maybe oblivious to how most people live. Most people work for a living and do their job for others in exchange for money, this is just normal and basic $hit.

She is very much like the stereotypical celebrity who wants the fame and fortune and esp the attention but then complains about the downside.

She should quit touring if she wants to. Why does it have to be anything more than she just quits? Why the Vogue cover? Attention. We will see if she can successfully give up the attention.

This. I mean, being a celebrity sounds bad to me, but I also think it would be fairly easy to stop being one— just stop doing public appearances. Be private, live your life. Yes, you would make less money. But if you don’t want to “live fir others” wouldn’t it be worth it?

The truth is they love the attention, but don’t like working hard or having expectations put on them. Like small children: look at me, look at me! But don’t ask anything of me and no, I won’t do my chores, I’m tired.

Same here. Not a fan at all.

Most people become performers because they love attention. For the few that do it for other reasons (they like exploring a character, like writing music, etc) it’s easy for them to become private because attention isn’t what they craved anyway. But for the others— not so much.

Here is what she said:

Her dad was/is a major player in the industry and has made a fortune over the years, her mom owns a production company. Her grandfather was an influential politician and her god-mother is Dolly Parton. All of her siblings are well established entertainment stars themselves (although she is by far the most well known), and she was married to movie star Liam Hemsworth; The are lots of rich and influential people around her. That is how real money is made and kept - connections.

She hasn't toured in 10 years. I this is just her responding to people asking her when she's touring next and then why she isn't touring (at least that's how she feels now.)

I usually find this kind of commentary annoying but I find her likable.

This could be her ironically hinting at another tour...
