They don't generally take classes AT NOVA but most of the classes in 11th-12th are dual enrollment classes with NOVA, taken at the high school. So, yes, students can graduate with an AA degree.

Why would you have one elementary going to one MS? Makes no sense.

That’s not what I meant. I am talking about a middle school that adhere’s to the traditional philosophy: emphasis on the basics, high academic expectations, high behavioral expectations and focus on character building, direct instruction, a dress code, lots of writing, regular letter grades etc. Clearly that’s not what everyone is looking for which is fine. But there are many parents who do not like the direction APS is going.

Other than the dress code, the bolded describes neighborhood school and the option school we attend.

Don’t tell the ATS fanmoms that! They need to believe their school is a special kind of fabulous

All APS elementary schools (except ATS) will be using standards based grading by the end of 2025. So no, you won't be receiving letter grades at your neighborhood school.

But I’m not talking about ATS. I’m talking about a middle school that focuses on traditional instruction.

That’s great! I would love for all neighborhood schools to be like that, but my understanding is that that isn’t the case. Which school is this? Perhaps we can move there 😄
