How big is your CC credit limit?

Anonymous
$34K on one card and $17K on another card. I don't carry a balance but use one a lot for airline miles. Lol, I thought $34K was a hight limit. I had no idea there were $50K+ limits for streamline credit cards, I know Am Ex is a different type of card so the limits are different.

I have 6 cards and I think they all max out around $25k.

I don't ask for increases. The CC company periodically increases them, usually after I've made a big purchase or spent a lot that month and paid off the card, which I do each month.

I don’t carry a balance but we are extremely high net worth and income and I have charged as much as $200k in a single month when we were having interior design work done.

I am a firm believer in increasing lines of credit when you don’t need them. For this reason I also carry $250k in unsecured lines of credit (not helocs) spread across 4 banks.

Why are you a believer in doing this? I mean it looks like you do use them so I’m not sure why you’d say you don’t (although use vs need are two different things). Are the rates on these CC limits different from the regular rates on carrying a balance on the card? Are they introductory or 0%? Do you pay them off in full every month?

We pay them in full every month.

$70,000. I only use one card though and always pay it off. That card has a $15k max.

Primary card $26K. Backup card $20K. Two smaller cards for specific vendors (Target and Children's Place) with small balances ($somewhere between 1K and 2.5K) to get discounts and sale prices for certain items. Use them infrequently.

It could be higher, but I have stopped updating our income information. I've noticed that if you refuse to answer the regular request to update your financial information that they stop increasing your limits. Since I have a good credit score (over 800) and no need for any more credit on revolving credit lines, I just stopped answering those inquiries and they stopped increasing our limits. Win-win for me.

My CC limit is 13K. It used to be higher, but in 2008 the bank reduced it due to the financial crisis. I've never let my balance go over 2K, so 13K is good enough for me, plus I ALWAYS pay off my balance every month.

My credit score with Transunion is 845.

Really? What if you need to pay for a big purchase?

We don’t buy things we can’t afford.

Credit cards are so convenient. How do you pay for things?

$2,500 IS a big purchase! If I needed to make a bigger purchase than that (though I can't imagine what that would be) I could use my debit card I guess. But that's never come up.

Not pp but I have a $4k limit across 3 cards and cannot seem to get approved for limit increases. No balances.
