The number of shot kids and killed kids is soaring in DC. Often the shooter is another juvenile. These soft on crime policies are having tragic consequences. RIP to the boy and wishing peace for his loved ones.

I think at this time his status is still unknown. Hoping he pulls through. |
| Horrible news. Sadly this summer is going to be historically violent in the cities. |
| Why the city don't put police in the schools after all the shooting all over the country.😕 |
There is a school resource officer at Roosevelt. Shockingly, that does not create a bullet-proof force field around the school and its parking lots. |
It's being reported that he died. |
|
My heart goes out to his family.
DCUM posters, please chose your words with care and kindness today. This young man's friends, family, and community may be reading this thread. |
Exactly. You could have 3 police at the door .. wouldn't have stopped this poor kid losing his life. It's something else we need. |

Just wild that this event is only 1.5 pages. Let this happen at JR. Even a JR shooting around the corner that didn’t hit anyone had 20 pages in less than an hour.
My prayers are with this boy and his family. I’m terrified for the students at the school and feel for them about the trauma they’ve experienced on the grounds of their school. |

A Roosevelt parent told me that it was apparently a transfer student who had only been at Roosevelt a few weeks. They think the student was trying to escape something bad, and but it followed him to Roosevelt.
Their kid had actually been having a good experience at Roosevelt up until the shooting. As can be imagined, it was an extremely traumatic event for the hole school. |
How tragic. I haven’t seen any update regarding the perpetrator. Does anyone know? |
unbelievably heartbreaking. |
| This is so awful. My god. |
