Waitlist Movement

Any news from any other ivies? (besides Cornell, Yale and Dartmouth)

Yale overshot their yield and overenrolled by almost 200 so definitely no one came off there. I think Dartmouth also closed w/ no wait list admits.

At my daughter’s school, people have come off the wait list at NYU (multiple), Wisconsin, BU, Tulane and Northwestern. It has seemed like a ton of movement compared to what we expected (next to none).

Only one of these is a T25 school. I agree there has been more movement than normal in the 25 to 75 range. I know of kids getting off Syracuse waitlist.

When did the Northwestern waitlist movement happen? Before May 1 or after? And which school within Northwestern?

Barnard moved. You can decide for yourself whether that’s an Ivy/T25.

Which top 25 schools? Any ivies except Cornell? TIA

I guess I didn’t mean just top 25 schools but a mix of good schools - Duke, Cornell, Michigan, UVA, Wisconsin, Case Western. I was expecting next to nothing.

My son's friend got off the Wash U list a couple of days ago. Ironically, they had committed to Cornell but are now going to Wash U (no idea why.)

Ithaca isn’t for everyone.

Agree, but Ithaca to St. Louis seems like a lateral move. Wouldn't be me.

DS heard of 2 kids getting off UVA wait list in the last week. Guess they didn't get as many deposits as they expected?

Sorry, I don’t know which school. This is a girl at my daughter’s school that she doesn’t know well. She had committed to Tufts and switched to Northwestern late last week.

Both Virginia kids. One was a double legacy, if that matters.
