It’s definitely your form. You can learn proper form without a trainer. Watch you tube videos, do air squats (no weights) in front of a mirror. Keep your chest up, straight back, butt sits back and knees should not be collapsing in - for most women because of our body structure this requires an active mindfulness to keep knees out so that hips knees heels are in one line. Add weights once you have the form down.
