Neither really. There are brief portions of the course that discuss regression equations (including logarithmic/exponential curves) but it’s only a couple days. The rest of the class is really a completely separate sequence and only requires basic algebra to solve. Some schools put hefty pre reqs before signing up (an A in precalc or even AP lit for the reading comprehension!) but college board has no such requirements so other schools allow it to be taken by anyone at any time. FCPS requires you to finish your graduation requirements before doing elective math courses, so algebra II before AP stats, but you’ll want to talk to the counselors in your school system to figure out the rules. |
