blair magnet 2-3 is typically hrs per night except if you take functions at 2-4 more, also scales up if you pile on a lot of hard APs like AP Lang + AP World Civ etc


Thanks. I am interested in hearing more from magnet families about homework too since I’m sure it can vary like all things can.


Mine sophomore pHS magnet kid never finishes it seems. He’s probably ADHD though- straight As all marking periods though.

DCC school. 9th grader usually finishes homework at school. In French 4. Does have to study for AP gov some evenings.

RMIB. It’s really hard to say. I’d say a couple hours per night in 9-10 grade, and then more like 3 hrs per night in 11th grade with also catch up work on weekends. There’s a lot of writing in that program and a lot of different types of assessments.

3 hours a night in the hardest year seems pretty reasonable, no? I hope it is the same thing in the Blaid SMCS magnet.

Magnet kid: 1-2 hours a night (seems other kids way more, but my kid is a quick learner/worker)

Non-magnet kid: zero (does it during breaks at school)

Both have straight As
