Use olive oil and fInger paint it around the pan (avoid using any scratchy cloths or utensils on it). It should be good to go. Treat it like a baby or favorite car.

Back in the lye was an inredient in dish soap, so that's where the "no soap" thing comes from. It's not an issue anymore. I use soap every time I clean my cast iron and it's perfectly fine. I just scrambled eggs in it this morning; completely non-stick.

I wash/scrub with soap and water. Put it on a low burner on the stove until completely dry, and then I dab a few drops of avocado oil on a paper towel and wipe the inside of the pan to give it a very light coat. I've never had a problem and have been doing this for years.

I mourn for your skillet.
Soap is no good.
I used soap on my very first cast iron. Had to toss it as everything tasted slightly soapy afterwards.

Just reseason it. Ton of youtube videos out there how to do it. But one soap wash isn’t going to ruin it. That’s nuts.

I wash my cast iron with dish soap. You have to thoroughly dry it right away so it doesn’t rust. I bought it pre-seasoned and use it daily so it’s pretty much non stick by now. I don’t need to oil it.
