Executive Functioning

Anonymous
I know your DS hasn't been diagnosed with ADHD but, as you pointed out, impaired executive functioning is common in those with ADHD and there are a lot of resouces within the ADHD community that would help you with finding a structure/model for home. Impaired or not, eveyone can benefit from the techniques/tools, the difference is that those who are impaired can't do well without them.

There are a tons of techniques, plans, ideas and tools. I think you're best bet is to search on the web for them and try out a few. If you want more intensive assistance, I've heard Ann Dolin speak at a few CHADD events and she's had a lot of excellent advice on structure and organization. She's also local and emails out periodic tips (no cost). http://www.anndolin.com/ If you have more specific questions after you've tried a few things, I'd post back here.

Often tutors can help with this as well. Lab school has a tutoring program-you could check with them. Also, see if they or McLean or KTS offer summer camp programs that address this.
