Is it bad that I only listen to Taylor Swift?

Why not try Carole King. Joni Mitchell, etc.

Because...I am very into TS right now. Not looking for other things.

Like at the very least you could branch out to artists TS is inspired with or references in her music, or to other female singer songwriters generally, or to other musicians who have crossed that country-to-pop divide in similar ways. Like here is a short list of musicians who might appeal to someone who really enjoys Taylor Swift:

Lady Gaga
Dolly Parton
Kacey Musgraves
Phoebe Bridgers
Beyoncé
Courtney Barnett

There are many, many others. I have no idea why someone would restrict themselves to one artist in this way. It's messed up.

Lol how did Courtney Barnett end up on this list

NP -- well, makes sense to me. Female singer-songwriter. Yeah, she's Australian, but her credentials are pretty similar to TS. Sure, she rocks a little harder, but her wit and deadpan are on brand.

Also, since I mentioned The National earlier and The National's involvement with TS, Courtney Barnett opened for The National on the 2019 tour, including their show at the Anthem.

It’s fine to be a fan and to have fun but if it becomes a significant part of your personality, it’s a crutch for something.

+1, in my experience people who are very into one singer or band to the exclusion of all others tend to also have unhealthy parasocial relationships with them.

So it's one thing to only listen to TS (limited, kind of boring) but I'm betting OP is also over-invested in Swift's love life, gets angry when other people diss Swift or say they don't like her music, etc.

Arrested development. Time to grow up.

No, you shouldn't be concerned. Listen to what you love.

OP, only you know if you spend too much time listening to TS, looking up news about TS, thinking about restyling your look, feeling luke you teo could be friends, etc. In other words, listening to one artist at 35 isn't odd, getting really into the artist separately from the music, could point to an unhealthy fixation.

Not bad at all. It'd be bad if you could only talk about Taylor Swift, but if this is the music that makes you happy, go for it.

Only? That seems awfully limiting.

Did you only listen to Debbie Gibson or Tiffany back in the day? If so, it tracks.

PP and she's on the list because she's a gifted lyricist and also in the category of "female singer songwriters." But also, the point of the list is that there are many phenomenally talented bands/singers out who have made or are making interesting, worthwhile music, and it's crazy to me that someone who loves music would close themselves off to those musicians so that they could go listen to one of a handful of albums from ONE singer. Like imagine listening to Folklore for the 40th time this week instead of just listening to the Courtney Barnett/Kurt Vile joint album for the very first time. Weird choice, I question it.

Here is something you can try....

Go on Pandora and use Taylor or a few of her songs that you really like as "seeds" for a "station".

Then, use the thumbs up or down as you hear and discover other similar songs and artists that are similar.

You may be surprised at what you discover this way.

I don’t listen to Taylor, I listen to Courtney Barnett.

Meant for OP but you could do the same with Barnett on Pandora and see what it comes up with as suggestions.

Don’t I know it OP All too well.

Wouldn’t be my choice but you do you. Just don’t talk about it constantly to other people.

Listen to some older singers, like Mary Chapin Carpenter. Addicting songs too.

I’m with you, OP. I’ve been on an absolute Taylor swift rampage over the past month. Maybe not listening to TS exclusively but I definitely have a few songs on repeat and have been listening to her music probably daily.
