Op here. She’s my first and I had horrible PPD, recovery, and she was a bad sleeper so I think I missed out on the sweet newborn days some of you are recalling so fondly. I am looking forward to when she’s older and says funny things. Our neighbor’s 3 YO says “mm sure!” to every question and she makes me laugh so much, and she is quite sweet with my LO. Regardless, DD found the oven mitts and walked around with them on waving hi this morning. Love it. |
Ah, I love that stage. Although a bit of my 1st's is a blur because I had #2 when he was 16 mos old! |
Looking back at pictures and videos, I agree it was the cutest age! Then toddlerhood hit around 20 months and oh boy did it get real. But still super cute even if they're totally crazy! |
I get it!! My second born was an easy newborn and I had no PPD/PPA like I’d had with my first, and I LOVED the newborn stage. He was an absolute terror starting around 15 months all the way through 3 years or so. I didn’t even like him most days. It was such a dark period. I think every child gives you at least one dark stage and at least one perfect stage! So, enjoy your perfect stage now! |
Same! 15 months was one of the worst ages for me. But I love that OP is happy! |
The fact that you say “was” a bad sleeper as in past tense tells me she wasn’t really. Mine is 19 months and still waking 3-8 times a night. I love this age, too, but maybe mostly because it’s way easier than when she was an infant and woke 20+ times a night. |
It is a wonderful age....as is every age when you love your child so much. But I wanted to say how happy I am for you after suffering from PPD to be enjoying your child so much. You deserve that and I'm glad you are feeling better.

It is a really really hard age, I hated being on constant hovering alert, but so CUTE. |
Enjoy! My 2 yo is doing this flailing maneuver that I can’t take. He flings then clenches with a fake waaaahhh waaaaahhhhh that ends with a smirk. Enjoy it! |
i love children at all age. |
