Speed Camera At Chesterbrook?

Anonymous
I’m glad they are studying Kirby and Chesterbrook. It has been dangerous for a very long time. Many motorists speed even during drop offs.

When the Chesterbrook camera was first installed I was doing the speed limit along Kirby during afternoon dismissal. The lights were flashing so the speed limit was 25 at the time. A large SUV furiously tailgated me through the school zone until the driver could zip around me into the school parking lot.

do you have a radar gun? It’s amazing to me all the public citizens without radar who can tell out her cars speeds. Without speeding themselves of course..

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out when drivers are speeding and approximately how fast they are going. If I’m doing the speed limit and someone passes me and is out of sight within seconds they are speeding.

Do pedestrians in crosswalks have the right of way in Fairfax County? I noticed that a lot of cars do not stop even for students.

That’s a VA law, so yes, but cars barely stop for red lights and stop signs around here, so good luck getting them to stop for kids in a crosswalk.
