Meh, she's probably one of the two ranting atheists on this forum. Otherwise, why diss Episcopalians? They're a small % of the population and one of the most inclusive denominations out there. It's like beating up on labradoodles because somebody said something nice about labradoodles, but you hate dogs generally and can't let anything positive about dogs stand.

OP posted an old article right after an article about catholic abuse came out. My guess is that OP wants to tar more liberal alternatives to catholicism with the same brush

There is always room for improvement.

I know our episcopal church has fired youth minister for much less than anything reported here .

We have LGBQT support groups for youth and parents. We have at least two gay priests at our church both of whom are amazing people.

However, I can believe that in more conservative areas that such troubling behavior may exist. We don’t live in social vacuums.

It still pales compared to child abuse scandals in Catholic church but more work needs to be done to be truly inclusive.

Thanks for highlighting this OP. We can’t address problems if we don’t know they still exist

As an Episcopalian, I was surprised and sad by the report findings. However, we can’t fix problems in the dark so appreciated OP bringing the vulnerabilities of GTLBQ people within the church to light … we have more work to do.
