Why do you all eat so much peanut butter? There's a thread about odd food combinations and 90% of the suggestions are peanut butter + something. Most of them sound disgusting. In another thread people lamenting that you can't bring a jar of peanut butter on a plane. Let's not even talk about all the posts about "my kids will only eat PB or string cheese", "I have to bring PB to the park or my child will starve". My own SIL feeds her kids a PB sandwich every single day for lunch, even at home and on the weekends. Dinner is usually ramen noodles. Yuck. I can't think an equivalent in other cultures that people have to bring everywhere as an emotional support food. It's not like the French are bringing their own camembert on a plane.
You sound like a judgemental know it all b^tch.

This is what I was going to say as well. Op, you sound very stuck up and rude.

Your SIL sounds like a mom who is feeding her kids. Do you have kids?

I do. One of them is picky. But I can't imagine feeding them the same thing day after day. I try to diversify and prepare something home cooked whenever possible, even if very simple.

As a kid, I wanted pb &j for school lunch every day. I hate tuna, didn’t like cold cuts that were warm, same with hard boiled eggs, and I was happy with my choice. Yesterday for a quick lunch at home I had pb &j with an apple.

OP here. I'll admit that my kids are allergic. I don't mind others eating it around them, so that's not an issue. But since I have to pay attention, I notice how often it's eaten and how many people need to bring it everywhere and cannot think of something else to feed their child. It's odd because I have never thought "oh I wish I could pack a PB sandwich". And I never feel like we don't have enough tasty options to choose from.

I eat it every day but I could live without it, sure. Weird that you care so much.

Are they also allergic to ramen, or is that just your judgemental opinion?

I’m allergic so I actually live better without it

Go look at the ingredients in ramen noodles and tell me you want to feed this to your kids every single day.

Well clearly you're a much better mom than she is. Is that the attention you're looking for?

Well mine are allergic to tree nuts and DS’s allergist makes him eat peanuts every day so he does not develop an allergy to it. So that’s why we eat so much of it.

Only one of my kids and I eat it. Don't know what happened to the other 2 but they don't like it at all. I probably eat it once every few weeks, so I could definitely go without it.

Reeses peanut butter cups are a different story. I cannot live without those.

I could live without peanut butter, but it’s so good in the Talenti chocolate with peanut butter cups gelato that I eat as a special treat like once a month or two. I swear I don’t do it to piss off people like you.

I wonder if you could live without being such a self righteous snatch though.

I could live but I would have moments where I really missed it.

And ditto PP -- you can take away my PB but you're asking for a fight if you go for my PBcups.

No way! Love peanut butter. Excellent source of protein and I am not from the US, FWIW.

Why should my parents have thought of something else for me to eat? I found something I liked, it stayed fine in both extreme heat and cold, it was inexpensive and easy.

I would survive without it, but I’d be sad. It’s delicious. Name your favorite foods, OP, so we can judge you. Fair is fair.
