The carjacking was big news when it happened and there was significant discussion about it on nextdoor and on neighborhood listserves. So now a month later you decide it's time to start a post here and make it into some sort of bizarre gun ownership issue? OK sure. You really do sound like a Virginian who just randomly decided to run a google search trying to dig up dirt on Bethesda. It's pretty bizarre, but anyways, Bethesda is as desirable as ever.

If you were really a local then you would remember how rough the county was in the 80s. Things are better now.
