| Seriously— 2 lbs would feed everyone. I’d probably get 3 for extra/leftovers and variety but 4 lbs for 6 people is unnecessary |
| Not having more than enough food is real tacky. Ordering out when you invite ppl is tacky also but obviously you do you. |
3 sandwiches per adult! No wonder we have an obesity crisis. |
This. 3 lbs is half a pound per person - that's a lot, and two of them are kids! If you have good sides, I doubt you'll even go through 2 lbs (but I would also get 3 just to be sure). |
Seriously whooooo caressss. |
| If intention is everyone will make sandwiches, 3 pounds would be ok. I’d personally get 4 because I’d be paranoid about running out and I’m happy to have the leftovers. |
OP’s guests!! Duh! |
A pound of meat per adult??? I get a lb of brisket from rocklands and we get at least four sandwiches out of it. |
Such a strange way to limit yourself in life. The food is there to be enjoyed. Don’t be so self conscious! |
| Gross. |
| This is a case where the cost is so low to avoid the risk. I would go with more meat and assume that someone avoiding carbs may make a platter but not a sandwich. Or maybe the brisket is great, but one person likes chicken. The food will get eaten, so waste is not the worry. You're worried about being so precise about a situation where precision is not needed and a little more is a little more generous. Don't be controlling over other people's appetites! |
No, its being health conscious. I don't need 3 sandwiches, that is... beyond what an average adult needs to consume. |
So calling it rude to take seconds was just for fun when you really meant unhealthy? Ok. |
Do you not equate gorge to unhealthy? |
I don’t think it is unhealthy or rude to take seconds of a meal, no. And when I am hosting it makes me happy to see people go back for more. I certainly wouldn’t fine it rude if people enjoyed the food I provided. I find it more unhealthy to not trust yourself around food - it is a sign of disordered eating. |
