Nervous in Cabin John Park . . .

Anonymous
The Montgomery County School Bus depot is directly accross the street. I think some of the drivers chill out there in their cars before they clock in in the morning. Also, I know that at lunch time there are office workers (Lockheed, etc. is right down the street) that sit in their cars and eat.

I wouldn't go to any park that early in the morning by myself though. But, I think the early morning visitors were probably harmless....not that you should go again that early....just saying.

Does the sex end at 9 am?

exactly

either that or take the time to view it as a teachable moment to discuss alternative lifestyles with your child

Yes, a 1 year old would get a lot out of that discussion.

Honestly, I've lived in this area almost my entire life and had no idea that Cabin John was a gay hook-up area. Guess because I would have had no reason to know that.

The guys looking for guys thing was big in Turkey Run Park a while back. I think that crowd moves around to wherever they don't get hassled. So just trust your gut. If it seems weird, leave.

When I was six years old we lived in Maryland and my folks used to take us kids to Cabin John park. Some of my best childhood memories involve this park. Back then (over 40 years ago), they had a real fighter jet for the kids to play on. You could crawl right through the jet engine in the back and come out through the air intake in the plane's nose. You could also sit in the cockpit. I remember how thick the bullet proof glass was. They also had all of the old iron playground stuff including this giant rocket looking thing that I remember being sooooooo big. That park was always so cool and shady which was great for the parents. The train was always the highlight of the day. It's great to see that they still have Porky the Litter Eater after all these years. I saw it again on Youtube and the recorded voice is exactly the same as it was way back then. It sure brought back memories. Does anyone else remember that jet?

Why do gay guys always hook-up in public bathrooms? That's just gross. Can't they shell out money for a room?

OP, that place is too isolated to be there by yourself. What were you thinking? Even the most posh areas anywhere in the world are not safe off hours.

Isn't that the place where Robert hansen did his drop-offs for the soviets?

Turkey Run Park was and may still be a place for gay dudes to hook up.

There's even creepy guys all alone on the empty Mall on weekday mornings just sitting watching whoever happens to walk by.
