LII is a totally different program with a different process at each school. LII letters and info are not in line with LIV decisions. LIV is the only program that uses a central committee and has a county wide selection system. It is also the only program that kids cannot be removed from. LII and LIII are year by year services, with most kids returning but not all. In short, don’t use the LII notifications as any type of guide line for LIV, it doesn’t work that way. |

March 2023 Central Selection Committee meets April 6-7, 2023 Eligibility decisions sent April 13-28, 2023 Full-time AAP orientations held at Level IV sites (elementary school only). May 10, 2023 Appeals due to AAP office. |
Are they emailed or mailed? |
Last year, the level 4 decision came as an e-mail. |
Emailed to the enrolling SIS parent/guardian. |
Are parents notified either way - accepted or not accepted? Or is the email notification only sent to those accepted? |
Everyone gets an email -- accepted or not. Accepted will be notified of the school's open house/AAP welcome, which is before the acceptance/deferral decision is due. In 2021, we were notified April 9 and had to accept/defer by May 4. If not, information about appealing will be included. |
Any chance they come out earlier? I just imagine a lot of people will be on PTO next week so you would think the decisions would be done. |
They might come out on Friday afternoon but I would be surprised if they cam out then. Normally the schedule is followed. They tend to like to release the decision on a Friday in order to give Admin a weekend of a buffer. The only reason why I think that they might release them on Friday is because it would be at the start of Spring Break and it would give them a larger buffer. |
Yep my guess is this Friday PM via email. Last two years that has occured. |
Below information came out in school news today. So yes it should be this Friday, unless there are some major issues.
Advanced Academics Updates Eligibility notifications for level IV screening will be sent out at the end of this week or over spring break. Families will receive an email from the AAP Central Office. Parents who wish to refer their children for subject specific differentiation (level II) or part-time differentiation (level III), can submit referrals to Mrs. Xyz at xyz@fcps.edu no later than April 15. Access the referral form here. |
Tomorrow! I am so nervous for my DD who is in 6th grade. |
The communication says sometime tomorrow or during Spring Break. Hopefully it is tomorrow, just help the folks who are worried get the process over with, but it might not be. |
The decisions are done. I’m sure they’ve already loaded them into a database with a date pre-selected for email. It’ll be during spring break, anytime after school closes tomorrow. |
Does anybody think the teachers know already? My kid’s teacher was a little extra nice to me today and in my neurosis Im thinking is it because she knows? Is she being nice cause she knows it’s good news? Or is she being nice because she knows it’s bad news? Does she think I’m a crazy person who will throw a fit if it’s bad news? (I’m not. but does she think I am?)
NB: Just typing into the ether here while we wait. 🤣 |
