Yes this has been key for me—had to ask the phone to stop featuring an ex-friend of mine, a family member who had died, etc.

I feel this way about the first day of school for the 2019 - 2020 school year. My middle was going into K, the oldest into second, and they were SO excited for the year ahead. There are also ones from the first week of pandemic-related school closures that are so painful to see, knowing what came next.

I always love those videos but my kids are still relatively little (3 and 7) so they still love me and smile at me! I’m sure I’ll weep when watching them in 5-6 years. But I’m totally triggered by the “three years ago today” montages that show mid-March 2020. The novelty of us all being at home, the fear, the assumption that it would just be a couple weeks….

I don’t miss a thing about the early years but I know that I will desperately miss the days I’m in now with my kids (9 and 13) and one day these pictures and memories WILL hurt to see . I wish I could just freeze them here forever. I certainly know we are in the “good old days” of our family.

I am 46 - is that too old to have one more baby? My oldest is a teen but I miss the baby years so much! My second is 12 and I still try to hold him like a baby to the point where he actually said, "Go have another baby and let me go!"
