Generally speaking for all schools then, one needs to be above 75% for merit aid?

Like everything else, seems to be a crap shoot. My high stats CS kid did get merit aid at UMd, RIT, and RPI. Even with a big scholarship RIT and RPI are still super expensive.

And at CW being above 75% does not even get you admitted on EA so can't say on that one.

What do you mean? Was your DC deferred?

Correct. 35 ACT, 12 AP + 3 college-level math classes, 4.0 UW from MCPS magnet

DS received 40K/year last cycle.

URM, TO, 4.48W, 11 APs

Will let you know if a few weeks, but expecting waitlist perhaps due to yield protection.

Rough stats: 4.7 WGA, 4.0 UW, ACT 35

Might help if you visit to demonstrate interest. No idea.

yes it definitely helps. Case is a huge demonstrated interest school.

you'll find more data on stats of this year's acceptances/rejections on CC

Opened as many emails and links as possible (you will receive a TON of emails). However, bypassed any opportunity for an interview. I think decisions are expected next Saturday (3/18)-can't remember if school published or rumor.

Yea, their stupid interviews that filled up.

+1
My DC did one all that plus one of those stupid interviews, thought it went really well, rejected EA.

I am struggling to make heads and tails out of CC. Would really appreciate if you could post a link.

My dc has lower stats than those posting so maybe it'll be more relevant for you, op. W 4.45. UW 3.9 gpa. 1460 SAT, accepted with $28k merit. Visited the school but no interview.

Got $40K in 2022.

Interesting. Honestly, I wonder if it would be better to not submit high ACT + SAT scores.

Good thought. There seems to be "something" with schools like Case and VA Tech. Like they can't stomach the though of being someone's 2nd/3rd choice. Despite all of Case's efforts to manage acceptances, I think there yield is STILLridiculously low. Something like 19%

My kid was deferred. 3.98UW/4.8W, 1490, 15AP/Post-AP classes, very strong EC's, A+ recommendations (I saw one of them), MCPS. Probably didn't demonstrate enough interest.

With top of the class stats, like others reported here, you can expect 37-40 K merit aid. That has been the max the past 2 years, Above that for merit, there are specialty grants available that you can apply for. Most require an essay, and if you make it as a finalist, some will require an interview for that scholarship. You are not automatically considered for these - but it is worth applying.

Our year, DC got $37K merit (Max went up this year to 40-42K) and on top of that one of the specialty grants.

Generally the school reports 65% of students get some merit aid, 81% have any kind of aid.

My child is at Case- 3.94/4.8- 1510 SAT, 8Aps- varsity athlete (at Case) $40,500 merit per year. Was accepted at Georgia tech and UMD honors for engineering.

My child was accepted EA with $43500/year merit.
3.6/4.1
1490
lots of interest - interview, campus visit, attended local info session, went to session at HS
plans to major in CS, but Case doesn't admit by major, so not sure if that matters.
