A few of your neighbors got kicked out of public, then attended Flint Hill? Interesting.

I’ve never had a neighbor kicked out of public and I’m 50 years old.

Primary Day will not have spots. Class sizes are at their max because of admissions the past few years.
They have to error on admitting less than usual.

Please share if your child was waitlisted everywhere but ended up getting off a waitlist at a great school. Trying to stay positive but also wondering if we are being naive.

I would seriously look for another option while reaching out to each school to see what the response is. Let them know you are still interested!

But, candidly, you are also being naive if you think that they will get off (particularly if for 9th). It’s totally worth calling and all of things that are being recommended, but the chances are extremely remote. Just for the sake of sanity, move on the plan B and be pleasantly shocked in the very unlikely circumstance that the phone rings.

Do you think this is the same for what some might call "2nd and 2rd tier" schools (although I believe the school that is the right fit for your DC is first tier).

Clearly the tight admissions at the more competitive schools has a trickle down effect but do things loosen up at the 2nd & 3rd Tier?

You absolutely can get expelled from a public school. But it is also required to provide another public option.

A few of your neighbors got kicked out of public, then attended Flint Hill? Interesting.

I’ve never had a neighbor kicked out of public and I’m 50 years old.

Parents with money pull their kids out of public school when they are getting in trouble and put them in middle of the road privates like FH to give them a second chance or at least save face.
