How long will my car last?

That is quite a feat for a Cavalier. My first car was an '87 Cavalier and it was a piece of junk I bought in '95 for $1700. I had always wished I had saved for a few more months and bought a Civic instead.

I agree. But he drove a ton for work and wanted a new car and bought a zero option model. Stick shift, four cylinder, roll up windows. Nothing in car. I think that helped. You had to special order zero option cars as dealers don’t keep them on the lot.

I had a 99 Chevy Malibu. In 2006 the engine went bad. A friend of mine advised me to get rid of it. I hate payments so I ignored my friends advice and had the engine replaced. The car lasted me another 9 years.

It’s 18 years old. Get a Camry that’s more recent with decent features if you don’t want to buy new.

I don’t get the competition on who can rack up the most miles on their beater car.

If it is not rusted your Camry will last forever. They are super reliable.

My husband is in the same boat with a 2006 Nissan Altima. The only problem for him is, there are some parts that Nissan no longer makes. Important ones, like the clips that hold the gas pump in place. Our mechanic found some from an alternate parts distributor, but once the manufacturer no longer supports replacement parts, everything gets weird. If your mechanic thinks the major stuff looks good, I'm sure you can get several more years out of it.

I've never encountered this issue. I have a 2002 Honda Odyssey that is still 100% fine with no problems passing inspection. It has needed few repairs in it's lifetime.
