How or where to shop for the oversized button down with jeans/shorts look for busty women?

Pro tip -- sew up the front. You can do it invisibly, and the shirt will never gape. I do this with button-front dresses, too.

Plus an older one from Brooks brothers. For the oversized look of my college years I’d do men’s shirts from Brooks Brothers. They’re pricey but get softer with age and are wonderful as sleep shirts too.

I got a women’s chambray shirt from Old Navy — and was pleasantly stunned to see two extra buttons — to prevent gaping at the bust. Looking at the shirt you wouldn’t know that they are there.

Adding Talbots boyfriend shirts to the list

I don't see busty there. I see generous butt.

OP, you meant busty or butty?

Or in a pinch, use safety pins in between the buttons. Make sure the part of the pin that shows is inside your shirt.

Brooks Brothers. But us busty ladies do better when it's not over the top oversized. Not fitted but not crazy either.

This. I attempted the look and it looked ridiculous. I basically looked 50 pounds heavier because my boobs made it so my torso was swimming in fabric

Same. I go for relaxed or slim, not oversized. My waist is the slimmest part and I'd rather it not disappear; it just makes me look and feel much, much larger than I am.

I got an oversized button down from Target that I like a lot. I think it was this one (although I got a striped version that doesn't seem to be available anymore): https://www.target.com/p/women-s-oversized-long-sleeve-button-down-shirt-universal-thread/-/A-87304521?preselect=87086115#lnk=sametab. I'm a size 8 and a 34DD.

In general, I think oversized button-downs are way easier than fitted ones precisely bc you typically won't have a gaping problem. My button-down issues arise when I try to find something that fits my waist and doesn't gape.

Try Frank & Eileen, Boden, Everlane, Rails, Ministry of Supply or Alex Mill.

I just received this shirt, love it. It does run pretty big, I normally wear a S and still have plenty of room in the XS.
