| My kid is 12 and I'd think of them as a Zalpha. Not quite genZ, as being the oldest, they aren't as exposed to genZ culture as some of their peers who have older siblings would be. Some of them definitely act genz. |
PP here - yes, I totally agree! It definitely fits. |
I'm the PP from 81 and those are exactly the years my kids' are born as well! I think they're calling it Gen Alpha for 2014 but idk if the nickname will stick. |
They're Generation Alpha. https://guides.loc.gov/consumer-research/market-segments/generations |
Which sounds ridiculous and is rarely used. |
+1 a 79’er here with 09 and 11. |
Right. I recall when I was young our generation was referred to as Generation Y, and then as we got closer to the year 2000 they switched to millennial. So perhaps the “Alpha” generation will end up being defined as something else. It also seems weird to me that my kids who are 2.5 years and 2 years apart would be considered in different generations. Perhaps the one born before 2010 (even though her bday is at the end of 2009) would be separate from the siblings both born in the 2010s. |
You like Generation Covid better? |
| It's because they are into all things Gen X |
| Ik this is shitposting but is Gen Z 1997-2013? Cuz I'm born in 2013 Idk am I GenZ or GenAlpha idk I relate to both gens I had my childhood from 2019-2022 so I think I lean more Alpha |
u Remember when we were gen Y2K, LOL!! All a xennial here with an Alpha kid (2015). There are always cusp babies. Young GenZ on the cusp with Alpha. “Zillenials” on the cusp with Millenials and us Xennials. |
No that’s Gen alpha |
Hi- you still are a child. 12/13 year olds are children still. Also, most of your core memories with trends will be in high school and college. |
