No sorry it really has not. It did switch over and I am guessing you just weren’t around when it did. It’s not a secret that the school has long had issues. Most parents in Del Ray close by the school are rabid supporters especially in the early years. It’s not a slam on you or the school that you didn’t know. And it is sad that it hasn’t helped the ELL students. |
To PP’s point, these cumulative statistics for a whole school are not very insightful. Look at SES, specific grade levels (start w/ 4th if you aren’t sure), gender, and subject matters. Also: schools are much more than test scores—especially with low SES populations. Talk to current and former parents. |
Nope. It's systemic racism. If the scores were even close maybe it would be acceptable to consider other factors. The difference is too great. |
If your kids are white and UMC...they'll be fine. But that is no different than any other ACPS elementary school.

I’m so tired of this response. Do you post it on every thread? |
an immersion school is not an immersion school because they are trying to attract non Spanish speaking students - thats just your mistaken understanding of immersion and also the rest of your statement is also mistaken. Why did you even comment.... |
This isn't a belief. It's proven science that people learn better when taught in thier native language. It takes 7 years of learning a language to understand academic language. |
