Weinfeld group

I've tried had bad experiences with several advocates - one from Weinfeld group. It's an unregulated industry and there are no clear standards for what qualifies a person to serve as an advocate. I've wasted a lot of money trying to help my child. I wish there was a better way for parents to find help.

We are not a very prolific client (at least not yet), so maybe those with a ton of hours and lawsuits in the picture are attended to better, but I just want to get a sanity check - is this a par for the course when working with this shop? The kiddo is 4, with HF ASD in MCPS.

PS: If you switched to an advocate who is better and more attentive - please recommend yours.

Tried them and they were awful. Advocate basically forgot my child's name during IEP meeting, did no prep, never did any of the thing she said she'd follow up with. It's not just limited to this practice. Worked with 2 other companies and same experience. Most are just hacks.

All of them are a huge waste of money, they prey on parents of children with SN. You can do what they do, easily.

My experience with Weinfeld’s group has been that they push for excessive meetings/observations to pad their invoices.

As others have shared, many of the “advocates” in some of these larger groups have no real training. Sadly, I agree that many prey on parents struggling to do what is best for their child/ren.

Weinfeld as in Rich has been timely, responsive, collaborative, and exceptional. I’m disheartened to read this. I am not sure who to recommend because it’s been too long. I interviewed others on his team and in other groups. Some did seem flaky. After years of medical documentation ignored, I needed someone who could get results. I’m sorry I don’t have another referral.

We used them a long time ago and had a similar experience with Amy Mounce. She was great in some areas but in others she seemed disinterested in getting involved.
