Is it possible to recall a DC Councilmember?

It’s been over a month since Matty Pickleball has spoken about crime. He was “closely following” the shooting in Cleveland Park. Of course, zero follow up on that incident despite over ten armed crimes in his Ward since that time. He has tweeted five times since then talking about how racist Ward 3 is, though.

You're not going to recall progressive politicians in DC. Their views on crime are what most DC voters want which is why these councilmembers ran unopposed in their most recent elections.

These threads about recalls are ridiculous. We just had an election and these people won. If you don’t like it, get involved- go to your ANC meetings, testify before council, etc. I just think it’s the height of NIMBY laziness to not be involved and then jump on an anonymous message board yelling into the voids about your reps one month after the start of a new term.

They ran unopposed because most sane people abhor the idea of spending time with that type of demagogue day in and day out, discussing ridiculous proposals and Jewish space lasers. So that’s why. But now that these folk won’t even do the basic things they promised they would, the times are changing.

Today Councilman Gray introduced legislation to create a path to get MPD back to 4000 officers. Today Councilman Frumin introduced legislation to highlight DC as part of Americas 250th birthday. FFS!

Are you all going to be ok with more police officers? A few years ago y'all were claiming MPD was racist anytime they responded to even a noise complaint. You don't need to spend money on police if you don't want any enforcement

Yes please. Defund all those useless violence interruptors (which is just a scam) and use the money to double the police force. Please no more excuses for violent criminals.
