I’m a huge reader, somewhat new to audiobooks. I typically listen to books when I’m walking my dogs or doing chores. I’m finding I can’t listen to a book in bed without falling asleep within 5 minutes. This is not the case with “regular” books.

Just me? I’m now reading/listening to two books at the same time because of this quirk...

I consider this a feature, not a bug. When I lay down I bookmark my spot, set the timer for 30 min and never reach the end. Next day, I just start from my bookmarked spot.

How do you deal with earbuds? Do you use them?

My husband is not usually there so I can have the book playing out loud. If he's there, though, I have this sleep mask thingy I can use. Something like this:

I use something similar from Amazon. Lightweight and surprisingly comfortable.

I can only listen in the car. Maybe when prepping food. It’s a weird narrow range. Am totally distracted otherwise.

I have a “bedtime story” a book I enjoy by a narrator with a great, soothing voice, which has enough plot to keep me interested on nights I have a hard time switching off my work brain, but is also (one of the best things about this book…) an uplifting and ultimately positive tale where people are trying to do the right thing, so it’s a good atmosphere for sleep.
