European made. Huge variety. Pricey, but semiannual sale. Looks amazing.

Which showroom did you go to? This was not our experience in the Fairfax store at all. Great salesperson and tons of variety.

Another vote for the Tile Shop. It's a huge deal that they let you return excess tile for a refund, and I found the salespeople helpful and not pushy. I felt like they had a good balance of modern and classic selection and good quality.

OP again - for those recommending particular tile shops, did you go with their installers (if they had them), or with your own contractor?

I spent a lot of time shopping for tile mostly because I love all the tile. The Tile Shop in Rockville hands down was the best. We were doing an addition & whole house reno so there were a lot of details to figure out. The salesman I worked with was just awesome in helping me pull everything together in a way that worked really nicely.

A VA one. Most of the larger tile came in one format, they won’t tell you if something is made in China unless you really insist, and the displays they had were uneven (like if you run your hand over it, you feel the tile seams).

Have you been to a Porcelanosa showroom? It’s night and day. To me, it was like Tesla v Kia dealership.

How real are their reviews since they are practically ungooglable so who knows?! Anyway, we really disliked their tile because of the weird texture and machined sheen it had. I say the tile but we must have looked at 50.

I got the sense that they have strong relationships with local “designers” who push their clients to go there. We weren’t offered any discount so I am guessing where that’s going.

Get your own contractor. Google bathroom remodeler, read the reviews, and get 2-3 quotes.

Then ship for tile and all the other bathroom stuff.

For me 5 years ago for our small primary bath 196os bathroom redo, it was 8k for labor and another 3k for tub, tile, vanity, sink, mirror, lighting, paint. Etc.

Also go to the tile shop more for inspiration, not necessarily for service.
