Online clothing like Shein, Carve

Another lover of Carve swimsuits. Haven't looked at this year so they might be heinous. Some years I love what they have - others not so much. But good sporty swimwear. I have some other outdoor clothing from them that has held up very well too.

Shein uses AI to find the hottest, most popular designs on sites everywhere, including on Etsy where creative people make original designs, Shein then steals the design, mass produce it cheaply in sweatshops and sells worldwide. Shein sells worldwide except to China. Its eye popping low price draws lots of teenagers, because hey that dress is $5, or $3 on sale, why not? Shein now has more sales than Amazon, it's insane

Carve designs was recently bought by some guys from Australia...their stuff isn't good anymore...it was once exceptional but mostly crap now with outrageous prices! The materials they use are mostly crap...so so much polyester nylon garbage! Very little cotton

How about Pact? I’m getting lots of ads for them. Anyone order from them?

Don’t buy from Shien. Aside from the ethical concerns on the labor market they have no regulations on how they make their clothes. I have a friend who works in the regulatory industry and the toxic stuff she finds in cheaply made unregulated clothing is terrifying. Stick to big box stores like Costco and target that at least have some kind of vetting process to put stuff on their website if you want cheap clothes.

Also they look cute on social media because Shien and other such brands straight up steal videos/photos of influencers advertising really high end dresses. The thing you see in the ad is unlikely to be what you get; it’s what their cheap design was based on.

Legit question- how is this different than anything you are buying at the mall or on Amazon?

are you doing thorough research and buying strictly organic fibers ?

Do you know that there are slave-labor sweatshops in the US?

Sorry for the reality check

I ordered a dress from Pact after seeing many ads. It was the most unflattering, weirdest fitting article of clothing I've ever tried. I have a pretty straight shape and my measurements are usually an exact match for a 2 or 4 based on size charts but this thing seemed like it was 3 different sizes all in one garment ( like ranging from XXS to medium). I don't know what body type it was made for. Nothing wrong with the quality, though.
