And how exactly are you invoking religion? What faith has tenets specific about a slower vaccine schedule? That is not the purpose of the religious exemption form and the reality is very few religions are against vaccination. |
I am in Maryland and run a daycare and its murky and I don't get clear answers. I have been told by both the health department and the licensing board that we can not require vaccinations and that parents can claim religious exemption with a little line. When we tour we can't say we require or exclude non-vaccinated kids. I know many daycare centers require and inquire about vaccination status. |
What if a parent has vaccinated their child in the past but converts/ has a religious shift that makes them believe vaccines are against their beliefs? |
What? Vaccines are state mandated every daycare requires them. If they don't you are at an illegal day care. |
I imagine many faiths have tenets instructing parents to take care of their children, and virtually parents opting for a slower schedule are doing so because they believe it's better for their children. |

If you put your kid in a daycare that has unvaxed kids you are just stupid.
Clearly, your choice of people you want around your kid is lacking. Antivaxers are stupid that is a fact. |
I would not care what a daycare provider thought. Ours asked us to sign it so they'd be in compliance. What's the big deal about limits shots to 1-2 per visit and going back every 4-6-8 weeks depending on what the doctor said to do. Our doctors had no issue doing it after a long and bad reaction and slowing down the vaccine seems to cut out the bad reactions. They knew we'd come back as requested and said that they lump them together as most parents will not return frequently to do them as promised. We also had other issues going on so we were at the doctor every week to every few weeks for the first few years. |
If your kids are vaccinated it shouldn't be an issue. Them vaccinating doesn't protect you kid, it protects their kid, just like you vaccinating your kids protects them. |
100% |
I’m a director at a DC center and out of approximately 50 kids, 4 of them have zero vaccinations. Parents fill out the religious exemption form, which then gets approved by DOH. |
If your pediatrician recommends or agrees to a modified schedule for vaccinations, then it’s consider a medical exemption and the doctor signs a form indicating the length of time the exemption is good for. You should not be questioned about the status until your exemption expires. |
Not true. |
Exactly. |
In VA, it's a daycare facility violation to not have those forms for every child. Whether taking each vaccine is required I dunno. |
