Coterie Diapers?

Anonymous
I’m a former newborn care specialist and nanny and have used so many brands and by far my favorite is Pampers. Less likely to cause rashes, avoid blowouts and reasonable price. Pampers Pure if you are really picky about ingredients.

I’ve found that Coterie is a bit stiff and leaves marks on babies often.

I think Coterie is one of the most expensive brands. Also not sure you can get it anywhere besides online. We didn’t try those but have tried many other brands. There are lots of gentle diapers for less than Coterie. Pampers, unless it’s pampers pure, all have fragrance and may irritate very sensitive skin for that reason. But there are so many other options. I can’t imagine Coterie is worth it.

Anonymous wrote:My advice for diapers, soaps, wipes, creams, detergents etc is: Start with the cheap, don't overbuy. If there's a problem, you'll see it, and you can go from there.

So, we started with Target diapers, Target brand wipes, basic Desitin, the cheapest laundry detergent at Giant, basic No More Tears newborn shampoo. You're thinking that the extra money might be worth it because you're looking at ONE box and it's just a buck or two. Remember, you're going to go through this stuff like water for YEARS. Those extra $$ add up fast!

First kid's butt started to look a little red. Switched to Water Wipes on the pediatrician's recommendation, used those for the first year and then went back to Target brand. No other issues, he was fine with all the other cheap stuff.

Second never had any issues with any of this stuff.

Don't borrow trouble.

Get box of newborn diapers and then just wait and see what happens. Remember, they work up to 10 pounds, and since most babies lose weight before they start gaining, and you go through like 10 diapers a day in the early weeks, almost all even big babies will finish a big box of newborn diapers.

Please reread the bold above. We started with Kirkland brand (Costco) diapers and wipes and never had to change (3 children). Don't get caught up in the name band crap for small children. It is absolutely not necessary and can cause you to waste A LOT of money just to keep up with the Joneses.

Also, no wipe warmer necessary

You have a free wipes warmer. Your boobs. Stick the wipe in there before you start the diaper change, and then once you’ve got the dirty diaper opened up, you have a body temp warmed wipe for $0.

The coterie diapers are such a scam. Overpriced, but claim to be made from less toxic stuff and they’ve got PFAS just like many other brands.

I have used only Pampers Pure and Coterie and vastly preferred Pampers Pure until their recent redesign when they added the blowout protection elastic in the back and made them narrower. Then they completely stopped fitting my child so we switched to Coterie. Coterie always gave my baby rashes because the pee is not absorbed as deeply into the diaper so the moisture sits on the skin. I guess whatever toxic crap is in most diapers is what keeps them super dry! Constant diaper rash is worse than marginal additional exposure to toxic chemicals in my opinion so that’s why we went with Pampers Pure. Wish they still fit.

I’d say they’re just ok. The mother I was helping was extremely excited about them. Yes, it’s a cult. My favorite are Pampers. Almost everyone over buys the newborn sized diapers. Please get a wipe warmer. And no newborn sized clothes. They’ll fit for about a week.

Um no.

Depends on your baby. My 6lb baby will be swimming in newborn for quite some time. Ditto with newborn diapers. But don't overbuy we left the hospital with 3 packs they won't last long but we will use them up first. Wipe warmer are unnecessary - mold trap and fire hazard.

If you want to overpay, buy Bambo. They are awesome, and eco friendly. I would pick them over any others.

I used pampers mostly but once borrowed a Coterie from a friend at the park. Crazy soft! But so not worth that price. Around pull-up time, I stumbled upon Minnie Moon (at Target) and those are both amazing and reasonably priced. Not sure how they perform for newborns but worth a try if you’re shopping around.

Millie Moon I meant!

Same! We got one as a free sample and liked it so just got a few packs.

I did Amazon subscribe and save program for Bambo Nature diapers. They were awesome. I tried a few others but preferred this as they were both practical, comfortable, and nontoxic. If I did not have the "nontoxic" feature as a preference, I would go with Pampers as they were equally comfortable and practical as Bambo, but less expensive.

Wipes warmers dry out the wipes. Also, when you are not at home and don't have a warm wipe, your baby is going to be displeased. I find them to be completely overrated.
