| Wheaton engineering does some. Society of Women Engineers also does some and competes in various locales (internationally this year). My kid is also doing a field trip with Italian class. Drama did one to Shakespeare Theatre for a production. It was fantastic! |

Having flashbacks to my days at RMIB decades ago… we had a field trip to a production of Chekov’s Three Sisters. Absolutely everyone, including the teachers, fell fast asleep.
I know several children in Poolesville GE program- the field trips are beloved, and they come back excited and charged up from the beautiful things they have seen. Kids need good outdoor clothing. The overnight camping trip at the beginning of the program really builds trust and companionship for the cohort. |
The trips also brings cold, viruses, flu, stomach flu, strep, etc. for Many of the GE students on the trip and they end up infecting the Rest of the poolesville high community…it’s called “pooelsville plague” according to my senior. Apparently even the local doctors know about it.

Interesting! |
This was when the old coordinator was there. IB has gone done the tubes since. My DD did 2 years with each. Night and Day and I hear it has gotten worse |
| My 10th grader in PHS SMACS just brought home a field trip form to Wallops Island and Chincoteague and it is 3 days and 2 nights. I am thrilled. |
Yes, Blair does this one too, but my kid missed out on it during COVID. Glad it's back! |
I’m the poster with two Global kids (one graduated) and have never heard about this but it would make sense that the kids would get sick after field trips sitting on the bus. FWIW- It was not a problem for my older one who graduated nor my current one (yet). |
