I'm a PP. I found this so dense, I had trouble getting through it. Maybe I'll try again. |
| The Ugly Cry by Danielle Henderson |
|
The Glass Castle was big many moons ago.
Also, I enjoyed Open Book by Jessica Simpson. I am her age and watched her on Newlyweds and she was just part of that early 2000s pop culture era. It was a fun one. Less fun but important, Hunger by Roxane Gay. Ooof it's a hard one but the writing is excellent. |
| All You Can Ever Know by Nicole Chung. It completely changed the way I think about inter-racial adoption. |
| Carol Burnett's One More Time is excellent. |
| How is Jeannette McCurdy’s book? |
|
I agree that everyone should read “The Glass Castle.”
Amazing book. Demi Moore also penned an incredible memoir. Very raw + definitely honest read. Holly Madison’s Down The Rabbit Hole is also a very honest & excellent written memoir about her time w/Hugh Hefner. |
Oh, I loved the first two of those. Will have to check out Holly’s. Girls Next Door was a guilty pleasure back in the day. |
| I liked the autobiography of Evalyn Walsh McLean, entitled Father Struck it Rich. She was the last owner of the Hope Diamond. Lots of great DC history in there. |
| I liked Huma Abedin’s. She’s smart as a whip despite her choice in husband. |
| The Center Cannot Hold by Elyn Saks. I learned so much about mental illness and fortitude from this book. Saks deservedly won a McArthur genius grant for this book and her other scholarship. |
This is one of my favorite books. |
| Lauren Bacall - By Myself. I read it back in high school and still remember it fondly. Great read about old Hollywood and her romance with Bogey. I think she wrote a sequel later, but this was the original. |
+1 |
extremely depressing. I bailed. |
