Help me buy my niece earrings?

Is basically anything at Claire's fair game for her next pair, or do I have to worry about infections if I buy cheapo metals from there as these will be her first earrings to change into?

OP here. My niece was told to keep the same earrings in for something like four months. Three months? I just won't buy her anything at Claire's because they are a fancy family and those would be considered junk and thrown out - my SIL wouldn't even give them to anyone she knows.

Even fancy little girls like cheap sparkly earrings, OP. You sound very judgmental.

I know my family well. Niece would open them, be sweet in thanking me, and quietly ask her mom if they were good quality. Surely I can find sparkly earrings that aren't cheap quality.

My daughter got her ears pierced in May and she’s been loving PipPopPost. They have flat backs and she says she won’t do any other backs now. https://www.pippoppost.com/

My 8 year old got her ears pierced in the fall and I’ve been buying her earrings online at In Season Jewelry, which sells children’s jewelry.

I second this - I always go for hypoallergenic and kids sized. Blomdahl has a great selection and In Season Jewelry has a great kids selection though they are a bit pricier: https://www.inseasonjewelry.com/collections/kids-earrings. In Season Jewelry is also on Amazon.

Not for under $50

Thanks for the links to companies that weren't coming up when I searched for kids earrings. Is pure gold (14k? 18k?) or surgical grade titanium the best idea for materials (notwithstanding no knowledge of a metal allergy or sensitivity in my child) vs. silver plating or stainless steel?

Budget is $50, she's 7, likes studs rather than hoops, and loves aqua, mint green, purple, and goes to a fancy private school and her family is kind of fancy (I'm not, hence my small budget). Can you link to nice yet inexpensive earrings? Thank you!

Trashy fur a 7 yr old to have pierced ears.

Is your daughter tiny? I just bought a pair of these for my 6 year old and even though I specifically bought the kind they sell for older girls, they are the teeny tiniest earrings I've ever seen.I had to send them back.

I wouldn't get silver because it may tarnish - pure gold, gold filled, gold vermeil (not gold plated) or titanium are great.

I am OP and just opened the box of In Season earrings and they are TINY too! Like, for a small baby sized tiny. I am going to have to give them to someone else (I threw away the packaging) and re-buy earrings for teens and hope they're an appropriate size for my niece. It's too bad, because they are otherwise very cute. But I need a magnifying glass to see them.

Maybe occasionally get out of your cocoon of sameness. In my culture kids ears are pierced when they are 11 days old. Only thing trashy is your ignorance and need to attack anonymous people on the internet.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! So, I wouldn't describe myself as fancy, but I am picky about the earrings I buy for my girls because they tend to wear them for weeks and I don't want the cheap earrings that will tarnish if exposed to water. Here is the pair that my older wears pretty much constantly:

Macy's https://www.macys.com/shop/product/childrens-crystal-ball-stud-earrings-in-14k-gold?ID=6155294&tdp=cm_app~zMCOM-NAVAPP~xcm_zone~zPDP_ZONE_B~xcm_choiceId~zcidM06MZF-5f732d41-1230-4011-8f40-90503b79ffcf%40HB1%40Customers%2Balso%2Bloved%2410835%246155294~xcm_pos~zPos12~xcm_srcCatID~z10835

They look nothing like the picture. They are essentially a small sparkly crystal ball and the gold ball screws on in the back. They're really nice and I would recommend them.
