Great job OP! I'm down around 10lbs since New Year's. My clothes fit a little better and I think I look better when I look in the mirror. But it's slow going and I backslid a little this weekend. Hope I can stay motivated too! |
Hi OP- I had moment like this last spring. The scale was about to tip from 179 to 180 and I just did not want it to. It’s not always fast so I had to set all sorts of interim goals as 50lbs seemed insurmountable. So instead, I said I’d get to 169! A new 10s digit! Yay! Then I’d say, my next goal is getting the scale to stay at or under 165. Then, next I’d go for 159 and celebrate the new 10s digit.
Then it started to become, I can walk a mile faster. I can run a mile! Old me couldn’t run 100 feet. Then I could run two miles, and 3 miles, etc. I also recommend buying new clothes as you go as there was nothing that made me more sad than looking at myself in clothes that didn’t fit right. I’d get just enough in the current size to hold me over- not a full wardrobe or anything. But it made me feel good to have jeans that fit properly at each size. My other trick is that unless I have to be somewhere first thing, I don’t get showered and I get dressed in my workout clothes so I’m basically locked into exercising since it seems silly to me at that point not to do it. I get that you can’t outrun a bad diet, but I don’t just want to have lost weight, I want to be healthier overall and exercise is part of a long term healthy lifestyle. |
You can keep it up. You lost weight while eating a daily cookie! Ignore the posters that say losing 10 pounds in a month is too much. It’s not like it was in a week,

You got this OP. It seems like a long road, but really, you'll be there in no time at all.

Came back to check on OP. Are you still around and are you doing okay? I hope you are doing okay and hanging in there! |
