Yikes. I lived in the Encore about a decade ago and frequently walked to that shopping center when the McGruder’s was still there.

Npv or the encore by the Exxon?

Seminary Hill across Seminary... for less than two years.

Oh ok.why did you move because of the crime? Are you still in the area? I ask bc I'm need to move asap.

It was a dump with lots of sketchiness and nothing to do and I was looking elsewhere even when I moved in. I moved to Old Town and stayed there a long, long time before leaving Alexandria several years ago.

Room full of teenagers, all Arlington County residents. I swear I saw an article that said the shooter is claiming self defense but I can’t find it now so perhaps I imagined it.

I miss the McGruder’s but it was a much better area back then. The encore has been renamed now.

You must have moved here from out of town before knowing the area well. Anyway it's so much worse now worse than you can even begin to imagine. Even Old town is a different place now. What state are you in now?

I grew up in the area and they did it even back in the 80s/90s so nothing new

Yep. I can remember a few parties at that hotel in the late 1980's. The APD always showed up, and the place was a sh*thole. But we persevered.
