$3.49 at Walmart. I buy fresh fish and meat at Wegmans or Harris Teeter but only a fool buys eggs, bread, and other staples at Wegmans or Harris Teeter.

Of course, if you're embarrassed to be seen carrying a Walmart bag then you pay $8.00 for a dozen eggs

We're not allowed to buy more than two dozen at a time where we are.

I saw a famy of six--mother, father and four children, each with two dozen eggs checking out. There is nothing the store management can do about this.

Eggs have been high at the Walmarts near me. I stop by for milk because they have the cheapest price ($1.68/half gallon) but eggs were over $5.00/dozen a couple weeks ago.

Please explain eggsactly how the companies are “gouging”? The price of feed is up. The decimation of flocks due to avian flu. The price of diesel is up. The demand is high created by all this panic buying and simple economics means supply low and d land high, prices go up.

Then someone ignorant about profit margins will go on and on about record profits and call it gouging.

So, oh wise one! Please explain to the rest of us how record profits doesn’t equal price gouging?

NP. That poster says “KFP for the week”. KFP is kosher for Passover. Kosher food is already expensive, and it becomes ridiculously more so for Passover (if you’re not aware, the rules are stricter). And if you observe Passover strictly, not just “I don’t eat bread for a week”, then you have to buy almost everything new and KFP. Plus, if you are hosting the Seders, that’s an additional expense. My in-laws observe Passover very strictly plus have a lot of people over for the Seders, and it’s easily $1,000+ for the week.

Maybe do some research into those companies and look at what their profit margins are. Higher profits do not always mean more net income. It is not gouging!

The ones we always buy - dozen brown eggs, cage free, antibiotic free - are $3.49 per usual.

Wegman’s is ret#ardly overpriced. Don’t go to Wegmans.
