I called Chevy Chase Montessori. they said that there is no "cut off" as such Montessori. So I thought if he can get a spot there he won't feel like he didn't "advance" to Kindergarten this year, and start Kindergarten public school next september?? any thoughts on going from traditional schooling to a montessori style? |
I don't have firsthand experience with this since my dd will just be starting Montessori in the fall. What I looked for in a program was a balance between the Montessori - more individual learning and some group lessons and enrichment activities where there would be more social interaction. I think also even though your son will miss out on kindergarten until next year, there are still so many new things he will be able to learn at a Montessori that you won't feel like he is repeating Pre-K. |
