starting Wegovy

OP here. I am always dieting, just not successfully. I am hoping the drug helps my dieting to be more effective

OP I would join the Reddit groups for semiglutide, etc. You will get better advice there. DCUM has a lot of profoundly ignorant trolls whose scientific understanding of weight and medicine has not moved past the 1940s.

Seems a better thing to be upfront and honest about, especially given how pricey it is. As PP mentioned, better that they can support you, especially in the case of you having to discontinue.

DP. I’ve told my dh I’m working on losing weight. The medication causes me to eat much less so he sees me modifying my eating in both quantity and quality. So what questions would it raise? I’m still getting it for $25 a month.

Every tween and teen requested those mini makeup fridges for xmas -they were like 19.99 at walmart - maybe get one and put it in your office or bathroom or nightstand?

Pancreatitis? It happens but is rare.

Doctor should have ordered a CBC including triglycerides first…

I had a physical that included this test before starting Wegovy and nothing indicated that I would have any side effects.

I am glad to see so many people successfully getting prescriptions for Wegovy, getting them filled, and seeing results. I have done my reading and I believe I am a great candidate. I have PCOS and my BMI is 34. I asked my NP for a script for Wegovy in the fall and she said no. Inspired by all your posts I sent her a MyChart message and asked again. I told her that if she declines I would like referral to see an endocrinologist. Wish me luck!

and where are you finding it? My doctor gave me a prescription back in October and I haven't found it since.

I don't understand the shame about using it.

Me neither, but one of my good friends has stopped talking to me since I told her I’ve been using it when she asked how I lost so much weight so fast.

A lot of people believe that weight has a moral component. A chemical that facilitates weight loss is an affront to Baby Jesus. Or something.

Yay! I just started ozempic yesterday for diabetes. Good luck!!

Ozempic person here - my pharmacist told me to put it in the fridge.

I don't know if this is helpful but just in case: I take a different medication (nothing to do with diabetes or weight loss) that needs to stay refrigerated. The colder it is, the harder it is to press the "plunger" and the more it hurts going in. I take my medicine out of the fridge about an hour before injecting.

So where is everyone finding the medicine. I haven't been able to get my prescription filled for months.

I am willing to share since no one else is. And, it'll probably come across as obx, but it was the only way I found the drugs, after searching high and low. I went to a drug store in a non-white, non-wealthy neighborhood, and they had it and can get it for me monthly.

I just filled a 0.5 prescription at the Wegmans Fairfax pharmacy. They had to order it but they had it within 1-2 days. The shortage is supposed to be over by now.
