Thanks for making me feel better. Our parent base is very high strung and they send out notifications for everything.
So far DH and I are in the clear (knocks on wood). I hate stomach bugs so all three sick is my nightmare. And yes, we covid tested the youngest since the very high strung parent base has pushed a policy that any absence for illness requires a covid test to return. If we weren’t almost out of there I’d leave. |
Zofran and Bentyl are lifesavers with stomach bugs. For adults and kids (over 6 months, at least). |
This happened to us recently too! My DS got the stomach bug on a Sunday and was vomiting Sunday-Monday, better Tuesday but I kept him home Wednesday still as a precaution (so he was home Monday-Wednesday and last time he vomited was Monday morning). I sent my DD to school Monday-Wednesday because she wasn’t sick! She had zero symptoms at all. Well, she wound up vomiting on Thursday and had the bug Thursday-Friday.
Our kids have had many stomach bugs over the years and in the past they’ve almost always either a) both been sick at the same time or b) only one kid gets sick. It’s usually a) and usually they are not feeling great for at least a few hours before they actually start vomiting. This most recent stomach bug was different in that it just started w sudden vomiting out of nowhere (no prior symptoms at all) and in how long it took for the next kid to get it after the first kid got sick. I felt bad about it as I think DD did pass it on to other kids but I really didn’t think she was going to get it this time! |
NTA. I send kids to school unless they are barred by policy, and no one bars for this. No one would bat an eye for this at my preschool either, even these days.
NTA at all. |
Whoa, your place sounds insane!! |
NTA and all the other parents would have done the same and they know it. Lol |
That's ridiculous. My oldest was vomiting Wednesday night into Thursday last week and no one else in the family has gotten it.
I had a stomach bug over Thanksgiving, and no one else got it. |
+1 Stomach bugs are terrible but you're fine and I would have done the same. |
Not for my DC daycare. If anyone in the household has COVID, the daycare kid isn't allowed at school. It's ridiculous. Older DS came down with COVID just after the holidays and I stupidly said something to the secretary - mostly explaining why I was dropping off my 2 yr old with mask on, since we don't wear them anymore. Got a call at work a couple hours later that I had to pick up the 2 yr old and keep him home because my older son had COVID... |
My neighbor had it |
