Olive oils in the US from abroad are often a waste of money. The world floods the US with their inferior products because the US does not require quality standards like almost every other country according to the International Olive Oil Council.

We sort of have our own internal quality control standards though. Look for any products the contain the California Olive Oil Council on the seal. In the US, I'd stick to mostly CA olive oils if you are going to shell out a lot of money for EVOO.

I’m late to see this thread, but please try Olio2go on Hilltop in Fairfax/Merrifield. It is near Mosaic, but not in the Mosaic District.

They have new harvest olive oil and they will sample them so you can tasted them. All from Italy. Directly imported.

California Olive Ranch or Kirkland Organic EVOO.

There was a book a while ago that talked about fraud in the industry. There were two of the better ones mentioned.
