+1 Let’s see how much political violence has been normalized when this gets no reaction here. He was shooting into a child’s bedroom.

The Republicans here will studiously ignore this thread.

So far they are proving this correct.

Still silence.

Meanwhile every Democratic lawmaker has to stare into the abyss of possibly becoming the victim of a right winger’s hate crime.

I assume this is the official GOP strategy now to try to silence opponents by sending their far right wing armed crazies after them.

Clearly this guy was sent by Antifa to make the GOP look bad.

He lost 74% to 26% but said "I lost nada. It was rigged." A 74-26 humiliation... and it was "rigged." Wussy, Republican snowflakes. They're priceless! MAGA!

SOLOMON PENA

MIGUEL P GARCIA

Funded by George Soros, no less.

So no republicans have condemned this guy or his violence.

Look, political violence gets results. If one side does it more, then they seize the advantage. It reduces the other side’s pool of candidates, it shrinks their volunteer base, and it raises the cost of voting so that only the most committed on the other side will vote. Peña realized that it’s not the big assassination that works, but the potshots at random Democrat homes.

Peña getting caught isn’t even such a bad thing for Republicans, just as courts throwing out Governor DeSantis’s election prosecutions is beside the point. It’s not a bad thing to admit that you have done these things to harm and intimidate the other side, and that you’re too strong to suffer consequences. The next generation sees this and realizes that fortune comes from being Republican.

My, that is sociopathic.

Ehh. It just highlights all the more that the GOP is a party of criminal, goons and thugs who can't win elections honestly. Dems need to grow a spine and apply rule of law.

No, they are frantically searching the interwebs for any example of a liberal shooting up conservatives.

Like, you know, the practice for the congressional baseball game in alexandria a few years ago.

When George Santos runs for President this guy will be his VP pick.

“He had been demoted twice by the U.S. Navy and served nearly seven years in prison for burglary.

Yet powerful party leaders in New Mexico not only gave the first-time candidate, Solomon Peña, 39, full-throated endorsements, they also opened their checkbooks to fund his race for a state legislative seat in central Albuquerque long held by Democrats. Some knew about his prison record but said they felt that he had turned his life around. Local and state authorities now say they are investigating whether drug money helped fund his campaign.”

I’ve said for years and will continue to maintain that there are no good Republicans and haven’t been for a long, long time. Even the milder appearing ones - say Mitt Romney and Murkowski - are willing to stay members in a party where this is becoming the norm, and this guy is the tip of an iceberg of wretched ideas and actions.
