Touring elementary school

Anonymous
Like I said, paranoid.

I've been on a number of supervised school tours for prospective parents (pre-pandemic public, ongoing at private) and whatever it is you're imagining isn't what happens. The only interactions with kids were handled by the Asst. Principal giving the tour, saying hi to some kids in the hall walking past, asking some benign question about their day or activity or what their favorite part of school is. They don't send parents off to mill about on their own in the classrooms or on the playground or whatever. It's a nothingburger from a risk perspective, it's really just about whether the administration wants to make the time for the prospective parents or not.

Is that what you mean?

Why not? I would like to make my neighborhood choice based on the elementary school. My kids will be there the longest. There are several ES's that feeding the same middle and high schools. I want to make an informed choice.

School staff DO NOT have time to take people who *might* eventually enroll kids there on tours. Especially not the principal.

Still don’t want random adults in my kids school. No thanks.

Newsflash : all fcps ES are the same. cafeteria and office in the front, bus lines, kiss n ride, gym in the back, enclosed playground, a grasy field, and sane grades are lumped together.
And they all follow the same curriculum...teachers and staff come and go so I wouldn't harp on that at all.

See, really no reason for a tour and definitely not a big enough factor in buying a house.

Newsflash, they actually aren’t even close to the same. I’ve been in dozens over the years for kids sports and many are nothing alike.
