Which box hair dye do you swear by?

I am the ION poster ^^. My hairdresser also recommended I mix the solution in a bowl and brush it into my hair, vs the squeeze bottle. If you don’t have a lot of gray, you may be able to get 2 colorings out of 1 box (you would simply mix up enough solution for 1 coloring and save the rest for the next time). You cannot premix ahead of time.

Revlon Colorsilk color is amazingly natural looking. But it does dry my hair a bit.

I actually agree with this, it's actually got really good tone for a box dye. However, it's also loaded with ammonia and other chemicals that most box dyes don't use anymore (that's why it's so cheap) and regular use will not only make your hair dry but will also make it look really dull. I would only use this in a pinch.

It is easier on your hair but fades very quickly. Basically worthless.

Revlon Total Color is my absolute favorite.

I use ash brown and it doesn't get brassy and isn't too dark or too light.
Just like a lovely brown and doesn't fade.

Unfortunately I'm wondering if they've discontinued this line of hair color.
It's not on the Revlon site and not consistently available on Amazon in all colors. I had it set up on subscribe-and-save but that subscription was recently cancelled by Amazon.
It is currently available through CVS.

Colorsilk does not have amonia. What chemicals does it have that other box dyes do not?

Loreal excellence or Revlon. My hair is naturally black (Indian), so I use soft black or natural black or brown black..

Pp here— both the loreal and revlon i use both have no ammonia. The revlon one i used has keratin.

Revlon Colorsilk very thoroughly covers my gray. I use the dark brown which matches my original hair color quite well, but it fades after a month or so which is right when the roots have noticeably grown out, so I do a complete color every month.

Not correct. Revlon Colorsilk has zero ammonia. It says so right on the box, and it clearly doesn't because it would smell to high hell if it did. It's inexpensive, but not cheap.

That's a shame if it's discontinued. Revlon also had a root touch-up product I loved. It came in a dispenser that let you mix a fresh batch of color (3 uses per canister) and the roots blended beautifully with the rest of my hair.

BEEN using Revlon color silk blue black for a couple years now . I can say the color stays for me about 2 months . THE conditioner is amazing. MY HAIR IS DARK BROWN TO BEGIN WITH BUT MY GREYS ARE SO HORRIBLE I HATE IT . THIS IS THE ONLY BOX COLOR I USE . I NEED 2 BOXES BECAUSE MY HAIR IS SO LONG . IF YOU HAVE DARK HAIR THIS COLOR IS PERFECT .

Revlon because I think it’s the only one that doesn’t do animal testing. But I could be wrong.
