Anyone have a great tomato soup recipe?

I make a riff on the Marcella Hazen tomato sauce recipe, and add cream.

1 can of tomatoes, a half stick of butter, a half onion (not chopped). Dump in a pan and simmer for 45 minutes. Remove the onion. Add cream to taste.
