The cost was the reason my DC didn't go

We used Foundry Admissions. They helped our daughter with everything but test prep whcih we didn't care about because she went test optional. She was an average student so there was no ivy pressure, we just wanted to find a school where she'd thrive (and she is a happy soph this year.) Will definitely use them again for our son who is a freshman in hs now.

My DD is a junior so we haven't engaged anyone yet. One of our friends with a senior kid used Solomon Consulting. Another used Prep Matters. Both seem to be happy with their counselors. We will interview several and then decide on one.

OP no guarantees any of these people get your kid into an ivy league

Thank you! We are not really after Ivy League. Would be nice, definitely not a must.

Thank you in advance!

Toxic perspective

Well, thanks. I didn’t asked for your option, did I?

If I had the option to put your kid on a better path, I'd do it. Sadly, you're probably the only one with that option.

LOL

Try joining the Facebook group Application Nation by Sara Harberson. There is a monthly fee — around $100 I think. She tackles how to approach everything. There are also paid add-ons which we did not take advantage of (essay editing, activities re-write, LOCI, etc.) but she’s good. Our kid is at Harvard. I think she would have just started her new group in January. BTW, she used to work admissions at Penn.
