Yeah for a smaller birthday party (mostly neighborhood kids) I followed up with the one or 2 people who didn’t respond by the week before. When we’ve hosted larger gatherings I only follow up with closer friends.

I have done this in the past. It was a small party and one person had not responded. I texted them a week before and they were like, oh we meant to respond but lost the email! My text was something like this: "Can Larla make it to Larlo's party next Sunday? We would love to have her there! Let me know if you need the info again, thanks."
